ANN ARBOR, MI -- Ann Arbor may not have its own Times Square ball to drop, but there is still plenty to do to ring in the new year. Celebrate 2022 with these Ann Arbor-area events:

LIVE Nightclub will be hosting its New Year’s Eve party from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Dec. 31, featuring a complimentary champagne toast, snacks and music. LIVE is located at 102 South First St. in Ann Arbor. Early tickets cost $25 per person, while tickets at the door cost $30.

Necto Night Club, at 516 East Liberty St. in Ann Arbor will also be hosting a New Year’s Eve party, running from 9 p.m. on Dec. 31 to 3 a.m. on Jan. 1. The event, open to those ages 18 and older, will feature a balloon drop at midnight, catering by Cottage Inn and music. Tickets are $30 for those ages 21 and older and $50 for those ages 18 to 20.

For those looking for less nightclub and more ballroom, Weber’s Hotel and Restaurant, at 3050 Jackson Rd. in Ann Arbor, will be hosting a New Year’s Eve event featuring a ballroom-style dinner, live music and a champagne welcome reception. The overnight event, which also includes a brunch buffet the following morning, starts at $600 per couple.

Kerrytown Concert House at 415 North Fourth Ave. in Ann Arbor, will be hosting its New Year’s Eve jazz party starting at 7 p.m. on Dec. 31. The performance will feature drummer Pete Siers, clarinetist Dave Bennett and pianist Cliff Monear. The concert house will require either a proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test to enter. A free livestream will also be available. Tickets cost between $35 and $75, depending on seat location.

The Blue Llama Jazz Club at 314 South Main St. in Ann Arbor will host LowDown Brass Band on Dec. 31, with performances starting at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. The LowDown Brass Band is an all-horn band that uses dance hall and street beat rhythm, according to the club’s website. Tickets are $150 per person for the 6 p.m. show and $300 per person for the 9 p.m. show.

The Circ Bar at 210 South First St, is hosting a Masquerade New Year’s Eve party, featuring juggling, stilt-dancing, fire performances, music and other entertainment. Tickets range from a $40 general ticket to a $500 VIP table. The event runs from 8 p.m. on Dec. 31 to 3 a.m. on Jan. 1

Stormy Chromer will be performing at The Blind Pig, located at 208 South First Street, for three consecutive nights, including New Year’s Eve. Catch the performance from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Dec. 30 and from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. Tickets cost $20 per show or $50 for a three-day pass.

Club Above, located on the second level of the Heidelberg Restaurant and Bar at 215 North Main St. in Ann Arbor, will host its annual New Year’s Eve Latin Night. The event, featuring music and Latin dancing, starts at 10 p.m. on Dec. 31 and runs until 4 a.m. on Jan. 1. Admission is $10.

York, at 1928 Packard St. in Ann Arbor, will be hosting its first New Year’s Eve party on Dec. 31, featuring DJ Nitro outside from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and DJ Batz inside from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Ann Arbor’s Of Rice and Men is offering a seven course tasting menu and sparkling toast on Dec. 31. The event, hosted at the 312 South Main Street, will run from 6 p.m. to midnight. Tickets cost $162 per person.

The Cellar Cats, a six-piece band from Ann Arbor, will be performing a mix of classic rock, Motown, blues and other genres at the Zal Gaz Grotto Club on Dec. 31 from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. The club is located at 2070 West Stadium Blvd. in Ann Arbor.

Ziggy’s at 206 West Michigan Ave. in Ypsilanti, will be hosting band Local Anesthesia on Dec. 31 from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Jan. 1, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. The event will feature live jazz and performances with a champagne toast at midnight, followed by a dance party. The cover charge for the event is $25.

Drag performance group Boylesque Drag will be hosting its second annual New Year’s Eve Bingo night and fundraiser. The event will be held at the Tap Room at 201 West Michigan Ave. in Ypsilanti and run from 8 p.m. on Dec. 31 to 1 a.m. on Jan. 1. Bingo starts at 9 p.m.

A portion of the ticket sales will go toward purchasing gift cards from local business for the staff at the University of Michigan and St. Joseph Mercy hospitals. The event is capped at 50 attendees, who will need proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test.

Mash Ypsilanti, at 400 North River St. in Ypsilanti, will see DJs from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Dec. 31. The restaurant will also have food and drink specials.

Dance in the new year at The Dance Pavilion, at 1918 Whitaker Rd. in Ypsilanti. Instructors will teach the Hustle at 9 p.m., followed by pizza and a midnight champagne toast. Tickets are $20 per person.

Join musical group Standard Time for champagne, hors d’oeuvres, music and an after party at The Encore Musical Theatre Company, located at 7714 Ann Arbor St. in Dexter. The event runs from 8 p.m. to midnight. Tickets cost $125. Encore requires either proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test to enter.

Robin Hills Farm, located at 20390 M-52 in Chelsea, will be hosting a Space Cowboy New Year’s Eve party starting at 7 p.m. on Dec. 31. The event features live music from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., followed by a DJ, as well as a midnight champagne toast. Tickets cost $25.
