With over 50 characters to choose from, though, picking the right character in All-Star Battle R can be daunting, especially with such a bizarre mix of characters. This list ranks the top most effective characters you should be using.

One of the new characters introduced in All-Star Battle R is Diego Brando, a horse jockey and alternative universe version of longtime JoJo villain Dio. His Stand, Scary Monsters, gives him the ability to transform himself and others into dinosaurs.

Diego translates this ability into a fast, frightening fighting style emphasizing aggression and combo moves. By collecting the Corpse Parts spread around the stage, he can increase his lethality to greater heights. His Heart Heat Attack even transforms him into a dinosaur, changing his moveset and making him all the more threatening.

As the original Jojo and progenitor of the Joestar bloodline, Jonathan brings the power you would expect from a mountain of a man like him. His Hamon fighting style allows him to build his Heart Heat Gauge and perform Street Fighter-esque EX moves.

Jonathan is a versatile character, but his real strength is in his combo game. His excellent combo options, especially when he has enough Heat Gauge, can turn a single touch into a devastating combo. He might be on the slower side, but you shouldn't dare to underestimate him.

The deuteragonist of part two, Caesar brings his signature Hamon style into All-Star Battle R. Not only is he a formidable close-ranged fighter, but he also utilizes several projectiles through his unique soap bubble technique. This combination of close-range offensive and long-range projectiles makes Caesar formidable no matter where on the stage he is.

He can lock you down with his Hamon Lenses or extend his combos and deliver beatdowns with his Hamon-enhanced uppercuts and kicks. Wamuu managed to take him down, but you might find it a little more difficult.

As the protagonist of part five, Giorno brings a wide variety of techniques thanks to his Stand, Gold Experience. He can punch you rapidly, sprout a tree underneath him, or just throw animals at you. His real strength comes out, though, when he uses his Great Heat Attack to unleash Gold Experience Requiem.

Requiem makes Giorno the best character in the game, bar none. On top of incredible damage, super armor on all his attacks, and an unconditional combo breaker, he can also utilize a bizarre projectile that's both unblockable, and a combo starter. Don't give Giorno an inch, or he'll show you the power of Requiem.

Yoshikage Kira, the main antagonist of part four, needed a new identity. He claimed the life of Kosaku Kawajiri and an improved version of his Stand, Killer Queen; on top of that. Kosaku in All-Star Battle R utilizes incredibly dangerous bomb projectiles, with his unblockable air bubble bombs as his most deadly.

Additionally, Kosaku can utilize his new power, Bites the Dust. Not only does it deal incredible damage, reverse the timer, and restore his health, but it can even undo enemy transformations. Even Kars as the Ultimate Life Form can't resist the power of Bites the Dust.

As one of the most popular characters from part six, Jojo fans have ever longed for Foo Fighters to become playable. Their prayers have been answered in All-Star Battle R, and with a variety of shooting techniques, thanks to her Stand that shares her name, she more than lives up to the hype.

Foo Fighters can chain her moves together to create tricky and unpredictable scenarios that are sure to throw a monkey wrench in her opponent's plans. She can often trick you into picking the wrong retaliation option. Take your time and wait for the right opening, lest she gets the best of you.

This older and wiser variant of part three, protagonist Jotaro Kujo packs many of the same techniques as his younger self and more. On top of his standard Ora punch rush, he gains new grab and projectile options that the original Jotaro lacked.

This added versatility makes this version of Jotaro a powerhouse. He retains Star Platinum's excellent abilities, like the unblockable Star Finger, and can more easily contend with zoners thanks to his ball-bearing projectile. His ability to stop time is just the cherry on top.

The top boss of Passione and antagonist of part five brings his unstoppable power with his Stand, King Crimson. Diavolo has several powerful reversal options and counters, particularly with his Great Heat Attack. He can even stop an opponent's combo dead in its tracks.

Diavolo's most powerful option, though, might be his Heart Heat Attack that gives him the power of the future-predicting Epitaph. For a limited time, all of his blocks become automatic Stylish Dodges. This makes attacking Diavolo incredibly dangerous, as he can immediately retaliate after dodging.

As the archenemy of the Joestar bloodline, this new and improved Dio packs both his vampirism and the power of The World Part three. Dio has absolutely everything you could want in a character, from a projectile to a health leech to even unblockable attacks.

Combined with The World's time-stopping ability, Dio has a number of tricky options that will force his opponent to guess what he's throwing out next. Whether that be tossing you to the ground with a throw or flattening you under a steamroller, you should be careful not to let Dio get an advantage.

The top capo of Passione and deuteragonist of part five tops the list thanks to his range, speed, and sheer versatility. Bruno not only has great normals, but the ability of his Stand, Sticky Fingers, to create zippers on any surface is surprisingly useful.

This ability translates to a phenomenal projectile and a dash that both move incredibly fast and has excellent range. Nowhere on the screen is safe from Bruno, and he has some excellent combo options with his Stand out. Even if you somehow manage to take him down, his resolve allows him to get back up after a defeat for one last attempt to win.
