Fortnite ray guns: How to find Kymera Ray Gun locations explained | Eurogamer.net

Fortnite's ray gun is a new addition to Season 7, and goes hand-in-hand with the alien theme as part of a sweeping set of map changes.

Joining several other new weapons - including the IO Tech pulse rifle, recon scanner and rail gun - the Kymera Ray Gun is an "alien creation" which fires a continuous beam of energy.

Kymera, if you're curious, is one of the Season 7 Battle Pass skins, of which you can acquire Alien Artefacts to customise to your liking.

The Kymera Ray Gun can be sourced in two ways:

Let's go through these one by one.

Rare Ray Guns from Tresspassers

Trespassers can be found piloting UFOs, another new addition to the season.

Our UFO locations page explains where to find these flying saucers in more specific detail, but in short - head to one of the three 'purple' invaded areas of the map, and bring down the saucer.

Our recommendation - as such in the above video - is to lure a UFO in, let it abduct you with its tractor beam, then shoot the cockpit to take down the Trespasser inside.

You can also shoot down the UFO if you fancy more of a fight. Either way, once the Trespasser is out in the open, defeat them, and loot the items - one of which will be the Kymera Ray Gun.

Chapter 3 Season 3 has arrived - bringing with it a new Battle Pass, character collection, map locations and Victory Umbrella, along with the return of Victory Crowns. You can now get Indiana Jones skins and cosmetics by completing challenges like collecting relics, damaging opponents in vehicles, and finding the secret door location. It's also good to know how to ride animals, the geyser locations along with where to find a Baller and zipline and use the new Grapple Glove, and if you're after a specific Battle Pass skin, then it's a good idea to know how to get XP fast.

The Rare Kymera Ray Gun has unlimited ammo, and though it won't do much to structures, it can offer a continuous stream of 9 damage to enemies if you get your aim right.

Legendary Ray Guns from the Mothership

From June 22nd came the arrival of mothership abducting. The aforementioned link will explain how this works, but in short, find an Abductor ship and let it beam you up to a mini-game where you collect Vault Orbs.

Find all five before the time ends, and you can open a number of Legendary chests, inside of which can spawn a Legendary Ray Gun.

Similar to the Rare version, the Legendary Ray Gun has unlimited ammo, and though it won't do much against structures, will do a continuous stream of 11 damage to any other enemies.

It's possible other ray gun-sourcing methods could be introduced as the season progresses - and as always, be sure to loot defeated enemies in case they had it in their inventories, which can save you going toe-to-toe with an extra-terrestrial.
