What happens to the defense when 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel lines up for running backs?

Ask poor Jacksonville inside linebacker Damien Wilson.

Of course, on Sunday, Samuel got the ball in a 30-10 win over the Jaguars. He had 8 passes for 79 yards and scored a 25-yard touchdown. But Samuel also lined up three fast breaks in the backcourt, but he did not receive a pass. What happened to Wilson in these games—two of which made his first turnover easily and the other was supposed to score a touchdown—emphasized that Samuel, as a running back, can help without touching the ball. The 49ers defended the torch.

Example 1: In the first 20 games of the 49ers, the Jaguars are 2 and 1 on the 2-yard line.

Samuel, a running back in an I formation, rushed to the left plane in an instant, and quarterback Jimmy Gallopolo looked at his way. The 49ers had only two receivers on the left-Brandon Eyuk defending one-on-one in the backcourt of the end zone-but Samuel's appearance completely collapsed the Jaguars' defense.

Linebacker K'Lavon Chaisson caught Samuel and made a solid screen around the goal line. That's fine. problem? The other three guards-cornerback Tyson Campbell, safety guard Andrew Wingard and Wilson-also broke through from their right, as if attracted by Samuel. The biggest mistake was made by Wilson. He didn't notice running back Jeff Wilson. He was on the left, crossed the field, passed the linebacker on his route, and stayed alone in the end zone.

Samuel was supposed to get an assist on a touchdown, but Gallopolo's worst pass of the day overtook Jeff Wilson and was incomplete.

Example 2: Numbers 3 and 1 on the 49ers’ 34-yard line at the end of the second quarter.

Samuel once again became a running back in the Type I formation, with running back Trey Selmon as the guard. Samuel immediately moved to the left, Gallopolo pretended to throw the ball at him, and then handed the ball to Selmon for a full-back dive. Sermon easily caught the first fall-4 yards-because the unblocked Damien Wilson got him out of the perfect position and met Sermon near the melee line. Instead, Wilson looked at Samuel, hesitated, then took a step to the right, and then jumped to the foot of the sermon late and futile.

Example 3: Balls 1 and 10 on the 48-yard line in Jacksonville early in the third quarter.

Garoppolo is holding a shotgun, and Samuel is on his left. Gallopolo pretended to pass the ball to Samuel, which caused Damien Wilson, who was supposed to be in charge of the midfield area, to walk a few steps towards Samuel. Result: George Kittle fell into the position Wilson should have occupied, and no one argued in the reception 13 yards away, after which Wilson looked up into the sky in the frustration of me messing up.

The point? In the past two games, the addition of running back Samuel may continue to change the 49ers' offense. It is not without risks. Samuel has been injured throughout his short career, and his runs, some of which ran in the middle, incurred more punishments. It is not without cost. The 49ers were not flooded with capable wide receivers, and canceled Samuel, who got the lowest catch of the season on Sunday, which further restricted their play in the area.

However, Samuel scored 115 yards in 13 offenses and scored two touchdowns, helping his recently troubled team beat their opponents 61-20 in the past two games. The 49ers want him to continue in his new position because linebackers like Wilson really don't want them to do so.

• We noticed Gallopolo’s worst pass on Sunday. His best result: a 23-yard game in the sermon, which laid the foundation for Robbie Gould's field goal percentage and gave the 49ers a 20-3 lead at the end of the second quarter.

This is the second and first place on the 49ers' 47-yard line. Garoppolo took the shotgun and returned to the 36-yard line, where passer Josh Allen rushed into his blind zone. Garoppolo saw Sermon alone in the apartment on the right, on the 45-yard line of the 49ers, and avoided the laser lollipop: Garoppolo released a lean floater, flew for 19 yards, hung in the air for about 37 minutes, and then It fell gently into Sermon's arms and strode him at the 45-yard line in Jacksonville.

• Cornerback Ambry Thomas, a rookie third-round pick, his first defensive fast break since Week 1. Why hasn't he played a cornerback for more than two months? This became clear immediately after Thomas, who played 11 fast breaks, entered the fourth quarter garbage time.

Left corner back Thomas is mainly responsible for receiving the ball wide receiver Marvin Jones, who did not receive the ball in the first 54 minutes of the game.

Jaguar's only TD-driven first game: Jones completed 13 yards. The second game: Jones completed 22 yards. The third game: Jones completed 8 yards. Game 6: Jones completed the 9-yard game, after which Thomas put his hands on the grass in frustration.

Thomas has 6 passes this year, and he has 6 catches in his 20 steals this year, with a passing distance of 74 yards.

• The Jaguars played a few hundred yards from 121 Financial Ballpark. This is the home stadium of Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, the Marlins’ 3A league team.

It seems that the city also has a minor league football team on Sunday. We know that the Jaguars (2-8) are not good, but who knew they could pretend to be pirates in 1976?

In the 49ers’ first TD offense, Jacksonville’s forced kick was offset by a defensive free throw, and the Jaguars were offside, leaving the 49ers behind for the first time in the 3rd and 4th innings. In the 49ers’ third TD offense, the Jaguars’ third offensive stop was offset by an unnecessary rough free throw, and they later fouled rough passes on the 2nd and 9th.

Appropriately, their performance was limited in the fourth quarter against 4th and 26th (of course they did). Due to punter Logan Cooke being late to the field, Jacksonville was marked as delayed.

If the previous 3-5 49ers did not humiliate the Rams six days ago, considering the terrible opponents, it is easy for people to regard their impressive performance as an aberration.
