This highly anticipated model has a mahogany body, a 27" long bass side and a 25.5" long multi-tone fingerboard on the treble side, and custom-angled DiMarzio pickups

Last September, the avant-garde metal electric guitar hero John Petrucci revealed that he was developing an 8-string version of his Ernie Ball Music Man signature guitar Majesty.

A few months later, in February this year, the avant-garde metal fragment master announced that the guitar will appear on the 15th studio album "A View From The Top of the World" to be released by the Dream Theater.

Now, after all the anticipation, the 8 string has come down, and the boy is a beauty. Limited to 100 pieces worldwide, this 8-string beast is specially designed for Gao Tian, let us know more about it.

The Majesty 8 neck is made of mahogany, basswood wings and ebony fingerboard. Speaking of the fingerboard, it is multi-tone-an impressive 27-inch length on the bass side and a standard 25.5-inch length on the treble side-and contains 24 stainless steel fan-shaped frets.

The hard tail bridge of the guitar has been set at an angle to increase the string length of the bass strings while still providing a more traditional length and feel for the higher strings. The tuner is a Schaller M6-IND locking device, chrome-plated exquisitely finished.

The supersonic speed comes from the same DiMarzio Dreamcatcher (bridge) and Rainmaker (neck) pickups as the other Majesty models. However, this pair is also angled for the 8-string for best performance.

There are also many controls, with a three-way pickup selector, another three-way toggle switch containing a piezoelectric bridge system, separate volume and tone knobs with push/pull controls for gain boost (on the volume knob ) And an additional custom combination of two pickups (on the pitch knob), plus push/push mono/stereo output.

The heads of Majesty 8 are individually numbered from 1 to 100, and each guitar comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Perucci and an autographed violin control cover.

Even the finishes of Majesty 8 are very luxurious. It is the same color scheme as the Mystic Dream that appeared on Ernie Ball Music Man Petrucci's iconic JP6 20 years ago. It switches between dark green and purple tones according to direct light.

"Just like playing with seven strings, playing eight strings feels like a cool new breakthrough," Perucci said to the guitar world of the new guitar. "The extra string widens the range of the instrument.

"Think of it as a keyboard player with more keys, so he can turn down-this is what this guitar looks like. Things like scales and arpeggios are translated beautifully because their shape remains the same; I don't use any weird tuning.

"For chords, you have to adjust and figure out how the increased range will expand, but this comes very quickly," he continued. "It's a little bit to learn how to deal with sound, but it's very interesting."

Ernie Ball Music Man Majesty 8 is available now, priced at US$4,199, but the ultra-limited inventory has been greatly reduced due to demand, so if you want it, please act as soon as possible.
