There is no other brand in the market today that can exude performance and luxury in an SUV better than Jaguar. F-PACE is the father of wandering. It has been in the same generation life cycle since 2016. It has undergone an excellent facelift in 2021. So much so that the VFACTS report shows that sales from January to October increased by 45.9% during the same period in 2020.

It looks big, bold, and elegant. But surprisingly, according to VFACTS, it no longer belongs to the mid-size SUV category. This means that it has struggled hard with BMW X5 and X6, Audi Q7, Genesis GV80, Mercedes-Benz GLE class and Volvo XC90.

Made in the UK, you can get four forms of F-PACE. The P250 is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo gasoline four-cylinder engine with an output of 184kW and 365Nm. P400 is equipped with a 3.0-liter turbocharger and electric compressor intercooled inline six-cylinder gasoline, which can output 294kW and 550Nm. Then there is the D300 we tested here, which is equipped with a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inter-cooled inline six-cylinder diesel engine that can generate 221 kilowatts and 650 Nm. At the top of the food chain is the SVR, which is equipped with a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 that can output 405kW and 700Nm.

In these drivetrains, you also have three trim levels to choose from-R-Dynamic S, SE and HSE. However, not all power systems provide all trim levels. Here, we are testing the D300 with the only available decoration-R-Dynamic SE. The cheapest P250 R-Dynamic S starts at $76,050, and the SVR starts at $142,170. Our sample retail price is $95,566 (not including on-road costs)

The design language of F-PACE is clear Jaguar. Not much has changed in the past five years, because it is still very good-looking. You will see those angry "frowning" headlights and hood curves that you can recognize at a glance, and it looks like they are shaped by the speed itself. There is an updated black and dot chrome front grille with prominent chrome surrounds, and L-shaped LEDs that look great.

The middle part flows with a simple appearance and smooth metal plates until you reach the rear. Here, you will see beautifully crafted new LED taillights. The small circular elements are now gone, and a more horizontal and relative design dominates-aided by a unique chrome line running through the length of the taillight. The black rear apron has also been reduced, including a painted lower surround, which adds a sense of sportiness. Appearance is still a winner in our eyes.

Timeless, immersive luxury is a way of describing interiors. When you sit down, you feel like a member of the royal family. There are four perforated DuoLeather seat colors to choose from-Ebony, Light Oyster, Mars Red and Siena Tan. You can also choose different canopies and decorations. But the brushed aluminum and dark brown open-air wood finishes in our test vehicle looked beautiful. We like the presentation of the long aluminum strips along the dashboard and the leather butt, and the vents deformed into the linear design of the dashboard. There is a new drive selector with "cricket" stitching, and the power window switches have been moved down from the top of the door panels to make them more accessible to the occupants.

The interior technology is integrated into it, and the number is A-level. There is a well-positioned tablet-style 11.4-inch curved infotainment touch screen, which uses Jaguar’s latest Pivi Pro operating system, with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connections. The screen is large enough to be divided into three parts, allowing quick access to frequently used menus. There is also a high-quality 12.3-inch interactive driver display instead of an analog instrument cluster. At night, you can choose from 30 different colors of ambient lighting, all of which will look better at night. It is cleverly placed on those aluminum surfaces to sparkle.

But it's not just the appearance. Design engineers also strive to make the space comfortable and practical. The seat is suitable for the king. There are many adjustments, you can add more optional additional functions, such as massage function. There are no complaints about the quality and feel of the materials used.

In terms of layout, the environment feels airy and scattered. But don't be so distracted that the driver can't reach it. There is a beautiful new storage shelf under the gear lever (although, this is an old concept), and there are plenty of places to store your belongings. No matter which row you are in, you will not feel that there is not enough space. Knee, head and shoulder space are all tried and tested. If you are in the second row, you will see air conditioning vents, charging options, and a large enough cup holder and bottle holder.

You will want to spend a lot of time on F-PACE. So, for those holiday adventures, the boot space is commendable. It can swallow 755 liters of luggage. In comparison, the volume of the Audi Q7 is 740 liters, the volume of the Genesis GV80 is 727 liters, and the volume of the BMW X5 is 650 liters. After folding the second row, the space can be opened to 1,804 liters. In this case, it is the second smallest in the competition. But we found that there is enough space. Remember, this is because VFACTS has pushed it up a level. If you still compete with rivals such as Audi Q5, BMW X3, and Mercedes-Benz GLC, it is the most impressive.

You will get absolutely too many features and luxury items as standard equipment. But there are some add-ons that may make you rudely pay extra. For example, wireless charging, four-zone climate control, head-up display, gesture-activated electric tailgate, and active shadow high beams should be included as standard on this end of the town.

Some of the important items that come standard with the D300 R-Dynamic SE include a power-adjustable steering column, ambient interior lighting, active road noise cancellation, blind spot sensors, lane departure warning with active lane keeping assist, 360-degree cameras, pedestrian avoidance and emergency control systems. Active forward collision mitigation, rear intersection warning, distance control cruise control, electric driver and front passenger seats, automatic high beams, puddle lights, electric tailgate, side door exit warning and road sign recognition.

Jaguar now offers a generous five-year unlimited kilometers warranty instead of the previous three years.

The 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder diesel engine is a tried and tested way of delivering confident performance today. But this one is equipped with a twin-turbocharged mild hybrid system, which can provide a healthy 221kW. This means that when you turn on the throttle, this Jag will use those animal instincts to charge. We can reach 0-100 km/h in 6.46 seconds. The official rated time is 6.4 seconds.

It also provides a huge torque of 650Nm, starting from a low speed of 1500 rpm. There is no problem with Hills and getting 2 tons (1959 kg tare weight). It feels like an unstoppable freight train. When accelerating from a rolling start, you will notice a small factor of turbo lag or laziness of the accelerogram sensor. But it quickly broke free and released. It may be programmed this way to be as economical as possible, but this is also obvious in the sport mode.

The eight-speed ZF automatic transmission shifts very quickly, which also contributes to its excellent performance. In addition, it is smooth and calm. The first gear ratio is particularly low to allow it to move quickly from takeoff when acceleration is required.

If you buy an SUV with good towing capacity in the market, there are better options. This is a performance-oriented SUV. That being said, with a rated braking weight of 2,400 kg, it can still tow important things.

If you are also concerned about some easy off-road detours, then this is not a problem in F-PACE. There are some off-road modes to choose from to assist towing. It is expected that 20-inch alloy wheels and low-profile 255/50 Pirelli P Zero tires can play a role on the apron. So, you don’t want to be too serious inland.

Balancing smooth driving and performance-oriented handling in a large SUV without adaptive suspension is a tricky formula. For F-PACE, we think its motivation is close to the forefront of the class. It is stiff and taut in the corners, showing minimal body roll. This is important when you have an engine that desires to roar. However, some compromises have been made in terms of comfort. The initial turbulence will make a loud noise in the cabin, but then the rest of the suspension travel is easy enough. Having 20-inch wheels (or larger, if selected) means less cushioning capacity during bumps.

As far as road feel is concerned, F-PACE feels large and a bit bulky in tighter conditions. It could be a bulging hood, a high driving position, sometimes lag in initial acceleration, or a combination of all of these. But if Jaguar can make it feel more agile, or have lighter feet, that would be great. The brake will also bite hard during the initial press, but then it will feel gradual and smooth.

As a powerful six-cylinder engine and heavy-duty SUV, you might think that you will pay at the gas station. But surprisingly, our fuel consumption data averaged 7.7 liters/100 kilometers, which includes highway and city mixed driving. The official data is 7.0L/100km. Considering the amount of power you get, this is a commendable figure.

The improved Jaguar F-PACE still has many modern techniques. It performed brilliantly with eye-catching boldness, luxury and performance. You can notice the attention to detail in the luxury interior, which still maintains the practicality and sense of space of an SUV. Unfortunately, they charge more for certain features that should be standard in this price range.

We like how Jaguar demonstrated that diesel engines can provide real performance while also providing a good and repeatable real world economy. From the inside out, Jaguar took the lead in creating a beautifully designed SUV. For those who like customization, there are countless options to choose from.

Advantages: – For diesel vehicles, the speed is very fast. Because the first gear is low, it can be quickly started from the stop. – The size, weight and power of the vehicle have good fuel economy – Top interior, dark brown wood grain and flat panel The computer touch screen looks royal – Jaguar now has a 5-year warranty – offering a variety of options and personalization for those who don’t like to mix and match

Disadvantages: – In some cases, the turbo/power system is lagging – unrefined braking, severe biting during the first press – some optional accessories are ridiculously expensive, and some should be standard
